Hi All, I’m new to reddit, so hopefully I do this the right way. But here goes my story, with (hopefully) pictures..
15 years ago my parents bought a home in another country in Europe.. It was huge and It was old, really old. It had been for sale for many years, there wasn’t much back story on it. They bought it for really cheap to fix up by themselves and turn it into the perfect vacation home for us and family. I was about 9 when they bought it and never liked it nor did I ever feel comfortable. It needed a lot of work and was basically falling apart, and the house came with multiple dead guests, from dead birds to dead rodents. The people that used to live here left furniture behind, and even some pictures.
Anyways fast forward. My parents came here multiple times a year to slowly fix it up. Slowly things started to go wrong. First the water heater broke in the first weeks, so we couldn’t shower anymore with warm water and it was the middle of winter (freezing cold).. we hired people to do the plumbing, that didn’t go according as plan, and after one day they didn’t show up anymore and we never heard from them again. I heard noises at night, but my parents blamed it on the wild life. I can make a whole book about just things that went wrong over the years.
One particular time I remembered. I was about 12 or 13. My parents went on a walk with the dogs and it was getting dark. I was upstairs with my door open, which looks down on the stairs. I heard the front door open and slam closed. I called for my parents but nobody answered. They didn’t came home. I was dead afraid. 15 minutes later my parents came home, and they of course told me I had imagined it because they locked the front door.
That summer I met some local kids. There was one boy, he was a bit older than me, but he told me the previous owner, a guy lived there by himself and he died in the house and it had been for sale ever since but that nobody wanted it.
When I was 14 I had experienced too many odd things at this house and refused to go back there. My parents kept going there trying to fix it up while I stayed home with family. They eventually gave up on fixing it up because everything went wrong and they could not get ahead with all the extra expenses. They still have the home, and visit it maybe twice a year. My parents don’t believe in the paranormal, but my mom had admitted that strange things have happened here that she can not explain.

(It is a picture taken of a printed out picture because it wasn’t taken with a digital camera.) if you zoom in on two of the windows, I can see a man in one of them, and the other one I’m still trying to figure it out...
